Olympic beach volleyball is an Olympic team sport played on sand with two players on each side. The breach volleyball playing area is a bit smaller than an indoor court. A match consists of the winning two of three sets, reaching 21 points with at least a two-point advantage. Players alternate service, but are not required to rotate positions. There are no substitutions. Most competitors pay barefoot. The ball is softer, with less internal pressure, and is slightly bigger than the ball used in the indoor game.
