The sheet of 16 stamps depicts eight children's book animals: the caterpillar from The Very Hungry Caterpillar; Maisy from Maisy's ABC; Curious George from Curious George Flies a Kite; Oliva the piglet from Olivia; Max from Where the Wild Things Are; Wilbur the pig from Charlotte's Web; Frederick the mouse from Frederick; and, the trick red fox from Dr. Seuss' Fox in Socks. Two of the stamp designs—the Hungry Caterpillar and Ms. Maisy—were issued at the same time by the United Kingdom’s Royal Mail.
